London Design Festival 2017 preview
Summer may be winding down in London, but things in the British capital are just hotting up. The London Design Festival (16-24 September) is set to kick off this week, with galleries, museums and studios in all corners of the metropolis poised for action. This year – in addition to popular staples like the Landmark projects and V&A installations – the festival is upping the ante, introducing Mayfair as the newest bustling design hub, as well as the inaugural Design Frontiers exhibition at Somerset House. From Shoreditch’s hidden pockets to Chelsea’s well-heeled design district, we’ve mapped out the top 20 exhibitions, installations and events not to be missed...

The Jane Wither-curated Brompton Design District will host designers and brands, focusing on the stories behind their furniture and objects. Staged across three four-storey townhouses in South Kensington, exhibitions include collective Okolo’s photographic show of modernist architecture, and Peter Pilotto’s fusion of fashion and furniture.
