Embraer is celebrating its 40th birthday this year. The Brazilian aerospace conglomerate was created in 1969, born of Brazil’s budding military industrial complex and now one of the world’s most important aircraft manufacturers.

True to its roots, the company remains a major military player, with over 20 air forces around the world operating its products, and its commercial jet program has delivered more than 1000 planes to 37 airlines since 1996.
