Mood board: Frilly and featherweight, yet short and sassy too, Giambattista Valli somehow managed to keep his winter collection rooted on the cool side of polite dressing. The cocktail dress, her evening-time sister skirts and cousin chic jackets all came draped in the laborious workmanship for which Valli is known.
Best in show: The knockouts in this show were plentiful including a chevron patterned, sequin crusted coat, ruffle trimmed silk chiffon goddess dresses and big blown-up Guipure lace that decorated chic cocktail dresses and also came inter sliced with mink for a perfect patchwork coat.
Finishing touches: Neither Valli nor the women who adore him is a sneaker wearing slacker. Valli's footwear was all crafted from the high maintenance variety, especially the stiletto heeled boots with leather cage lacing up the front of the leg.
