Mood board: Roland Mouret went back to his pattern making expertise for A/W with a masterful arrangement of geometric cuts, patchwork seams and box pleating to great graphic effect. Mouret’s self-dubbed ‘evolution of texture’ also included a ravishing retro-fied, panelled leather segment in shades of olive, khaki and fawn.
Best in show: The Frenchman’s two black and white pixelated coats (that were also sleek enough to be worn as dresses), which were sliced and diced like an optical illusion and belted at the waist.
Finishing touches: Given that there are often breezy cut-outs within Mouret’s angular lines, sheer silk turtle necks sensually warmed up this trans-seasonal collection’s defence against the cold/night.
