Mood board: It was a love-in at Christopher Kane from start to finish (and most especially after the tragic sudden passing of Kane and his sister Tammy’s mother, Christine, just days before the show) as many of the season’s key profile illustrations were inspired by a series of life drawing classes that took place at the designer’s studio and formed A/W’s ‘lover’s lace’.
Best in show: Kane dubbed his liberal sprinkling of glitter on nudes sketched as lace, gleaming lamé knitwear, pixelated chainmail and sparkling thunderbolt motifs as an ‘eclectic organism’, but we saw them as a rather welcome disco encore that got the heart racing.
Finishing touches: The house’s signature safety buckle fastenings leapt up onto dresses in 2D, as well as shoes in 3D form, while Kane’s boxy croc bags with mirrored, metallic ball feet were the reflection of perfection and will take pride of place in his new London flagship store.
