Mood board: It's not even a season since the Frank Gehry-designed Louis Vuitton Foundation opened its doors, but already the fashion brand was onto what's next with an installation of Buckminster Fuller-esque Geodesic domes that served as pop-up tents for the show in the middle of the Foundation's backyard. Similarly speaking, Nicolas Ghesquière wasn't messing around with any fashion funny business when it comes to the clothes. The silhouettes continue to look sharp and swift, and the clothes themselves down-to-earth in a resolutely cool way. No matter what he does, half of the rest of the fashion world will be following it next season, so get ready for polar-bear sized white woolly furs - many of which were fake - 19th century puffed sleeved shirts, peplumed knit tank-top skirt suits and high impact, strict embellishment that resembles the static fuzz on your TV set.
Best in show: An intriguing sense of the artificial permeated this show with Vuitton's signature Damier canvas being reproduced in mohair checkerboard suiting, and with fake leopard prints reproduced on fuzzy yellow, pink and black coats.
Finishing touches: Handbags morphed this season into hand-held, square-shaped, rigid silver trunks, which is unsurprising given this historic maison's original roots. Also noteworthy were the kitten heeled, sleekly pointed shoes that came covered with a shower of gold rivets.
