White Elephant Loft at 32 Main Street — Nantucket, USA
Nantucket's plush White Elephant Hotel has unveiled its second freestanding loft, a three-bedroom pied-à-terre on the second floor of a 19th century brick building on cobblestoned Main Street. Located half a mile from the hotel, the loft can be found in the middle of town, surrounded by the island's most charming boutiques and buzzing seafood restaurants. Interiors by local firm BPC Architecture include modern bedrooms and an open-plan living area and kitchen, where wire-back stools by Harry Bertoia, leather PK22 lounge chairs by Poul Kjaerholm and decorative elephants from Charles and Ray Eames are flanked by a stained-oak feature wall on one side and a 50-foot-long window that looks out to Nantucket's busiest thoroughfare on the other. In addition to all amenities at the harbourfront hotel, loft guests are also offered exclusive access to White Elephant Village, its sister property five minutes from Main Street.
