Místo — Prague, Czech Republic

Following the success of its first café, Můj šálek kávy (my cup of coffee), Místo – Czech for ‘the place’ - is the latest venture from Prague-based coffee outfit, Doubleshot Roastery. Founded in 2010 by Jarda Hrstka, Kamila Sotonová and Yara Tuček, after stints spent on coffee farms in Panama and roasteries in Canada, the trio offer top quality brews from a series of small farms from Guatemala to Brazil and Ethiopia. Located in the residential neighbourhood of Dejvice, in a former ground floor apartment, Místo has been designed by local architecture and interior firm, Edit, who broke down the inner walls to create a rhythmical series of intimate, interconnected spaces clad in vertical and horizontal strips of timber. A colourful mural by up-and-coming illustrator Kateřina Kynclová embellishes the back wall, where guests can also linger over a series of homemade snacks.
