London Design Festival 2017 preview
Summer may be winding down in London, but things in the British capital are just hotting up. The London Design Festival (16-24 September) is set to kick off this week, with galleries, museums and studios in all corners of the metropolis poised for action. This year – in addition to popular staples like the Landmark projects and V&A installations – the festival is upping the ante, introducing Mayfair as the newest bustling design hub, as well as the inaugural Design Frontiers exhibition at Somerset House. Designers Jasper Morrison and Jaime Hayon have joined forces to launch Jijibaba, a fashion brand centred on timeless and functional menswear. The inaugural collection will be presented at Dover Street Market, and shown at Design Frontiers in a salon-style set up that features the pair’s furniture designs for Vitra and Fritz Hansen.
