London Design Festival 2016 preview
As summer draws to a close, London braces itself for a rush of activity, biggest – and most exciting – of all: its annual creative showcase. This year’s festivities stretch across the capital, from the London Design Festival hub at the V&A, to the newly baptised London Design Fair in the east, alongside veterans like Clerkenwell and Brompton, by way of new district Brixton, and a few other surprises along the way. (Not to mention the inaugural London Design Bienniale, which will take place simultaneously, too!) To make navigating London’s design wonders infinitely more enjoyable we’ve put together an edit of the top 20 exhibitions, events and installations, just for you…

This year’s landmark installations include ’The Green Room’ (pictured) by artistic duo Studio Glithero, a sculpture made of colourful strings, which will redefine a stairwell in the museum creating an optical effect. Other projects featured in the museum will be ’Foil’ by Benjamin Hubert’s studio Layer, a 20m long, undulated metal ribbon which will cast shadows and lights in one of the galleries, and French designer Mathieu Lehanneur’s ’Liquid Marble’ installation.
