London Design Festival 2016 preview
As summer draws to a close, London braces itself for a rush of activity, biggest – and most exciting – of all: its annual creative showcase. This year’s festivities stretch across the capital, from the London Design Festival hub at the V&A, to the newly baptised London Design Fair in the east, alongside veterans like Clerkenwell and Brompton, by way of new district Brixton, and a few other surprises along the way. (Not to mention the inaugural London Design Bienniale, which will take place simultaneously, too!) The Eindhoven-based interdisciplinary design studio Raw Color is staging a Technicolor takeover of Aram Gallery. Supported by the Creative Industries Fund NL, ’Blend’ pays homage to Vincent van Gogh by way of paper-shredders, and also includes a choreographed troupe of fans to show how colour can be blended by motion.
