Mood board: Joseph Altuzarra used David Lynch’s 1990 film Wild at Heart as the starting point for his spring/summer 2017 collection, and the fun and carefree personalities of Laura Dern and Nicolas Cage’s characters, Lula and Sailor, were felt throughout. Altuzarra wanted the collection ‘to feel happy, vibrant and erotically charged’.

Finishing touches: Sparkly cherry prints dotted dresses, while a python print was present in a number of looks. A fruit salad of sorts took over the eveningwear, with sequined cherries, pineapples, lemons and blueberries covering multi-tiered organza gowns.

Best in show: A white silk organza dress covered with floral embroidery was one of the most beautiful pieces in the collection. A black-on-white cherry print wrap dress embodied the happy, confident and vibrant attitude Altuzarra wanted the collection to have.
