Roksanda S/S 2017
Scene setting: Against an abstract pale pink wall juxtaposed with light wooden boards cut in random curved shapes – a Gary Card design – models walked along an extra long runway with viewers placed on one side only. Classical piano music played with a voiceover by the pianist, relating how playing the instrument is like ‘sunshine pouring through my fingers’.
Best in show: Of the rich hues employed by designer Roksanda Ilincic, this season’s standouts were gold-tone velvet dresses that almost looked like hammered metal and silk oxblood gowns that shimmered as the models moved.
Team work: Malone Souliers was Roksanda’s partner when it came to the simple pointed pumps – both flat and heeled – that had circular gold-tone detailing similar to the dented hooped earrings and gold-tone detailing on jackets.
