The Temporium pop-up shop, London
In what is perhaps one of the most fleeting of pop-ups we’ve seen in a while, The Temporium on Brompton Road is giving shoppers all of ten days to browse and buy its eclectic mix of goods before it closes up shop.
Founded by Dezeen’s Marcus Fairs, together with Alice Breed and Deborah Spencer, The Temporium’s Christmas pop-up aims to be the first of their design-led shop series, which will be camping out in different locations over the next 12 months.
Set as a one-stop shop, or rather a temporary emporium (hence the amalgamation of the two words for the shop’s name), the aim is essentially to provide a comprehensive dose of design from every field, which is good news for shoppers expecting a nicely curated selection of fashion pieces, ceramics, homeware and books on show.
And in the true spirit of a traditional emporium, the two-floor retail unit, designed by London-based interior design practice the Post Office, will give small independent labels centre-stage alongside established design brands.
