Once an exhibition space for Andy Warhol no less, the Hotel Chelsea played host to Wohnkultur 66’s exhibition of Danish design. The Hamburg-based design shop curated one of the more charming exhibitions on show, combining Finn Juhl’s reissued furniture and Hanne Vedel’s woven fabrics with a range of new porcelain lights by Erik Magnussen.

Vedel (sister of Kristian, who designed the wooden birds in 1959) has been weaving for more than fifty years and, now in her seventies, shows no sign of slowing down. Alongside rugs and cushions, her fabric is used to upholster all Finn Juhl’s reissued furniture. As demand for the Dane’s furniture increases, so her wheel spins faster.
