Saint Laurent A/W 2015
Mood board: Edging closer to the urgent futurism of his Dior Homme days, Hedi Slimane’s latest men’s show for Saint Laurent echoed more graphic and ornate than ever – with hyper-attenuated tailoring shrunk on over slashed, zipped stovepipes that resounded stage, not street.
Best in show: Amongst the sea of black leather blousons and slim wool coats, a handful of glitzy outerwear spiked this bowerbird’s excitement; the silvered leather mackintosh, hot pink mink and a tiny Harrington bugle-beaded with black and red zigzags were pure disco indulgence.
Team tricks: Always awaited with eager anticipation, Slimane’s invitations are an evolving series of limited edition art booklets printed in identical black folios with silver edging and one’s seat allocation hidden on the last page. This season's artist is Seattle-born artist Oscar Tuazon, whose recent Los Angeles-based installations span natural, mineral, and industrial forms.
