The World’s End Market — London, UK
Market by name, market by nature. The 70-seat World’s End Market launched with the expressed intent to deliver fresh British produce, and indeed, with much of its extensive meat and seafood selection coming straight from its sister branch’s own butcher and fishmonger, it has stayed true to its word. Located on the more modest end of King’s Road – where the flashy chains give way to a more familial atmosphere – the restaurant is housed in an iconic building which was once the World’s End pub and before that, a tavern in the era of Charles II. The interiors feature reclaimed wooden crates which have been reworked into the walls and bar, while high ceilings, industrial lighting, white butcher tiles and chrome bar stools amalgamate to give the space a 1930s canteen aesthetic.
