From Alfa Romeo's highly-anticipated re-introduction into the US market to new offerings from Aston Martin, BMW and Mazda's record-selling Miata, to sheer muscle power from Ford, Dodge and Chevrolet, this year's New York International Auto Show, while lukewarm overall, was all about the coupé. And despite this year's New York event clashing with the Beijing Auto Show, there were still a few significant new vehicles.
This season, however, Los Angeles and Detroit one-upped the Big Apple in splashy debuts with their respective auto shows - which made the New York show rather more tepid in comparison. Mercedes garnered a lion's share of buzz with its S63 AMG 4MATIC Coupé, introduced by none other than 'Mad Men' star, and voice of the automaker, Jon Hamm, as did Land Rover, whose Discovery Vision Concept SUV proposed a mind-numbing basket of next generation technological offerings.
