Margaret Howell
Margaret Howell presents her menswear in a gallery in Le Marais. This low-key approach suits her simple pared-down aesthetic very well. In addition to presenting the clean and softly structured mainline collection, and MHL line that is mainly washed and garment dyed, she presented a series of photos by Wallpaper* contributing photographer Nigel Shafran.
Howell approached him to shoot the new collection, giving him carte blanche to shoot it how he wished. Shafran headed to Howells workshops in Edmonton, where her new shirts were being sampled, and ended up shooting the threads and scraps he found lying around. He then blew them up to a grand scale and the results, a kind of macro micro, were hung on the walls amongst the shirts.
