Hermès
Menswear at Hermés evolves each season. Shapes and details move on, perhaps at a slower pace, but that is how the clients like things. Opening the show with a mastic coloured V-neck sweater over a pair of clay coloured cotton pants, designer Véronique Nichanian signalled that she is still championing the informality seen in her collections of late.
The tie was dispensed with almost entirely, and in its place she offered V-neck or the newer U-neck sweaters or polo or collarless shirts. Sporty blousons came either raglan sleeved and bi-coloured in lizard or zippered and hooded in supple suede lined in micro scarf prints.
Colour was super subtle with clay, pepper, warm white and black, spiced up with Hermès red and aniseed. Apart from the odd scarf tied round the neck, and the linings of the blousons the only pattern was Madras checked cotton, also seen at Bottega Veneta in Milan and Comme des Garcons here in Paris.
