You may not have heard of him yet, but that is about to change. Kris Van Assche, who showed his own line today, is also the new Artistic Director of Dior Homme, and on Sunday all eyes will be on his first collection for the venerable French house.
Belgium-born Van Assche graduated from the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts, then cut his teeth with his predessor, Hedi Slimane, at Yves Saint Laurent and later at Dior Homme before setting up on his own just two years ago. For his own line, he aims to ‘balance a nostalgic historical sense with radical modernism’.
