Y3, Autumn/Winter '08 (scroll down to read the review)
Y3
Y3, the collaborative collection from Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto, has just opened a 200-square metre store in New York’s Meatpacking District opposite a brand new Yohji Yamamoto signature store. At the show, held at Pier 40, blankets and ’10 hours of heat’ hand-warmers came in useful considering the set and runway were a 70-metre long glacial installation made of ice blocks.

The collection - about exploration, and man and his environment - was both urban and outdoor. It opened with tartan tailoring (also spotted in Paris) and included sportswear, basic elements like knits and trackpants as well as mountaineering gear and heavy duty puffa jackets. It was Yohji and it was sporty, it was Y3.
