It may be a bit of a pain to get to but Wang Guangyi’s first exhibition in the UK is definitely worth the extra effort. A pioneer of China’s New Art Movement, Wang brings to life illustrations from cold war era manuals in a series of chilling installations. Fifty life-size figures in gas masks are strewn around the space, bringing to mind the potential catastrophe, so far avoided but still possible.
