Four years after its low-key, high-octane opening, Andre Balazs’s converted Marylebone fire station is still smoking hot. Hawk your Richard Prince and bribe the doormen to get a table at the Nuno Mendes-helmed restaurant or enjoy the cool London autumn air at the alfresco garden bar. Then attempt access to the Firehouse’s after-hours Ladder Shed club, where the guest list is stellar and the curtains are made of old hosepipes. The Firehouse also offers 26 bedrooms and suites, each fitted with a working fireplace and generously appointed bathrooms. Every hotel guest is looked after by a personal concierge, who will map out your 10-minute walk to the Frieze art fair at Regent’s Park.
