The making of artist Jeremy Deller's limited edition cover
Sneak a peek behind the scenes of the production process of his limited edition prints, made in collaboration with Fraser Muggeridge, for Wallpaper’s December 2014 issue
Opened at Modern Art Oxford on 6 December 2014, 'Love is Enough' is a radical show that celebrated the unexpectedly perfect pairing of two legendary artists: William Morris and Andy Warhol. Curated by Turner prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller, the exhibition seeks to draw parallels between the artists' work. Deller tells us in the December 2014 issue, 'They both believed that art should be a part of everyday life, it shouldn't be something just for the wealthy.' It's a belief that was perfectly encapsulated in the production of the issue's limited edition cover (see W*189). Specially designed for Wallpaper* by Deller himself and made in collaboration with Fraser Muggeridge, Frederick Hollyer's 1884 photograph of Morris is layered with a Warhol-inspired camouflage screen print to create an art movement mash-up. To commemorate the occasion, Deller produced a limited edition of 100 artworks hand printed on the Kelmscott Press on four different colours of neon paper.
