NH Collection Eurobuilding — Madrid, Spain

The Spanish hotel group NH has made a bold move with its new Madrid flagship, just off Paseo de la Castellana in the financial district. The newly refurbished 1970s property is now a ‘living lab’ for the brand, showcasing wireless charging stations, 3D holographic video conferencing systems and software that puts you virtually face to face with your concierge. The new interiors are faced in concrete with sharp white punctuated-metal paneling, and softened by sinuous upholstered furnishings under contemporary blown-glass chandeliers. Four in-house restaurants feature chefs – including ‘enfant terrible’ David Muñoz – with a collective five Michelin stars. The kicker is the rooftop Metropolitan spa, with its own beach, solarium and hammam.
