Hong Kong-based architect Andre Fu’s latest project – an integrated social space and gastronomic gallery in Tokyo’s Four Seasons Hotel – brings a welcome dose of the designer’s trademark ‘relaxed luxury’ to the city’s frenetic dining scene. The L-shaped dining room’s sleek fireplace, soft lighting and rich earthy textures sit comfortably alongside decorative hairline feature screens, dusty pink marble bar counters and a striking low lounge table in interlocking timber, marble and bronze- a subtle not to the traditional Japanese stone garden. Meanwhile, head chef Hiroyuki Asano’s farm-to-table menu includes his sublime signature Wagyu beef burger.
