Collectors’ corner: Taffin at TEFAF New York
Renowned jeweller James de Givenchy will be unveiling his new collection for Taffin at the TEFAF New York Spring Fair, taking place from May 3-7. His penchant for ceramic here takes on unusual forms, appearing transformed in a variety of bold hues that encapsulate both his familiar sculptural forms and a sharp, perceptive modernity.
Diamond and red ceramic necklace
In a pleasing clash of textures, de Givenchy’s predilection for linking materials and colour comes to life in this rose-gold necklace. Bold red ceramic links loop together emerald-cut diamonds in an arresting circlet.

Octagonal spinel ring
De Givenchy’s fascination with exceptional stones is revealed in this extraordinary dazzling pink gem. Its sharp geometric silhouette is made contemporary by a striped black, gray and red ceramic border.

Diamond and black ceramic ring
De Givenchy always finds faultless pairings for his exceptional stones. Here, an oval diamond is framed by black ceramic, playing unapologetically with curves and angles and making for a sharply modern finish. TEFAF New York takes place from 3 to 7 May.
