Spec-tech: we’re seeing clearly with Chanel’s online eyewear offering
Chanel sunglasses have long been an alluring accoutrement to any outfit. So much so, that when we visited the Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography in May – of which the Parisian house is a major partner – we couldn’t help but shoot Chanel’s latest sunglasses styles against the spectacular backdrop of the modernist Villa Noailles. For A/W 2018, we’ve got eyes for the label’s quilt-detail cat eye frames, or pinky hued aviators, Eighties-focused gold rimmed square styles, and ovular scholastic shades.
For UK-based sunglasses obsessives, stocking up on the latest Chanel frames just got a whole lot simpler. The house debuted eyewear e-commerce in the US in 2015, and this month marks the launch of its latest UK-focused online retail venture. Now, those pilot-centric shades, or quilted cat-eyes are all available at the click of a button, alongside a selection of exclusive styles and best sellers.
In February, Chanel announced its partnership with global e-commerce behemoth Farfetch, in a bid to bolster its digital presence. Its latest online retail venture upholds the brand’s impeccable commitment to in-store service. Its elegant Burlington Arcade boutique in London, which previously opened as an accessories store in 2014, now acts solely as a sunglasses space. London shoppers, can also opt to collect their chosen styles in store, or simply order them online to try on. A chic and spec-tacular e-commerce experience.
