Each year at Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography, its Fashion and Accessories Grand Prix winners are invited to collaborate with Chanel’s couture ateliers on a collection that blends burgeoning talent with the skill of the most talented petites mains. Take Vanessa Schindler, who for 2018, developed a collection with Maison Lesage and Maison Goossens - purveyors of the finest embroidery and metalwork - which featured earrings poured with liquid polymer, and diaphanous dresses crafted from layers of fabric secured with liquid polyurethane.
As the major partner of the festival, Chanel has offered Hyères’ Grand Prix winners the opportunity to collaborate with its Métiers d’Art since 2014. The festival is also the perfect time for it to display the breathtaking creations of its couture ateliers, which demonstrate hours of unparalleled artisanal skill.
