Sportmax A/W 2020 Milan Fashion Week Women's
Mood board: At the end of 2019, the Italian label — launched to incorporate easy sportswear into daily life — celebrated its 50th anniversary. A capsule collection of its greatest outerwear hits, reimagined in colour-blocked kaleidoscopic tones, is still to come. The brand’s celebratory mood was still in full swing for A/W 2020, as it offered up a collection of smart tailoring and fluid dresses in navy and nutty tones of leather and check, before experimenting with more evening focused finishes and fabrics, incorporating flowing dresses in glittering graphic details and metallic jersey, suiting in midnight blue velvet and romantic ruffled shirts and narrow bow details.
Best in show: A tuxedo suit was given a daytime twist, reimagined in dark denim, with a faux leather lapel, while a gently cocooning dress was constructed in a tactile floral jacquard, inspired by time-honed upholstery fabrics.
Finishing touches: Long opera gloves amped up the elevated mood, while slick thigh high boots, had a fluid futuristic feel.
