If there was ever a rat in the pack on Savile Row it would be Sir Richard James, the dandy tailor known for some of London's most outlandish sartorial business. Often one for theatrics, James was looking at the Desert Rats, the heroic WWII troop of British soldiers stationed across Northern Africa to inform the luxurious, army surplus designs he showed for S/S 2015. The military spirit of their desert uniforms played out as atlas print shirts paired with linen shorts suits and Nehru collar field jackets in a sandy, camouflage palette shot through with fuschia, sky blue and safety orange. With James' clientele brimming with pop stars and actors it's little wonder that certain showpieces erred towards 'costume'. On that note, creeping embroidery of desert flowers may hold its own decorative appeal, but as for the hot pink pith helmet? We're not sure it'd quite make the cut.
