Cashmere brand Oyuna collaborates with designer Peter Marigold

In celebration of its 10-year anniversary, London-based Mongolian cashmere company Oyuna, has joined forces with British designer Peter Marigold to bring us an installation that pays tribute to the brand's nomadic heritage.

Founded by Mongolian textile designer Oyuna Tserendorj and Swiss-Ecuadorian-British, David Bernasconi, Oyuna (which is designed in London and made in Mongolia), takes cashmere beyond the realm of traditional knitwear with a interiors, womenswear and accessories collection that features bold, textural pieces with hand stitched edges, fine colour stripes and both digital and hand silk screen prints. Fashioned from a combination of steel and wood, the structural installation is an abstract reinterpretation of the traditional Mongolian 'ger' tent-house and provides a backdrop for the brand's distinctive shawls, throws and clothing to be presented. 'We did not want to make something that was too dominant and would overpower the delicacy of cashmere,' explains Marigold. Here, the pair talk us through the development of the installation.

She has written for numerous English and Italian language publications, and worked as a content and communication consultant for fashion and design brands.
