Venice Architecture Biennale 2018 preview
The 16th international architecture exhibition of the Venice Biennale, running from 26 May to 25 November, is curated by architects Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara who selected the theme ‘Freespace’ for the event. As well as the main exhibition located at the Giardini and the Arsenale including 71 participants, this year there are the 63 national pavilions – as well as a host of other architectural and cultural events happening across Venice. Assemble have designed a special installation for V-A-C Foundation, as well as the interior and exterior of its new restaurant in a composition inspired by the richness of Venetian floors. The space will launch during the biennale’s vernissage. The foundation will also present a new show entitled ‘The Explorers, Part One: James Richards and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye’, curated by Iwona Blazwick, Director of the Whitechapel Gallery in London.
