Venice Architecture Biennale 2018 preview
The 16th international architecture exhibition of the Venice Biennale, running from 26 May to 25 November, is curated by architects Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara who selected the theme ‘Freespace’ for the event. As well as the main exhibition located at the Giardini and the Arsenale including 71 participants, this year there are the 63 national pavilions – as well as a host of other architectural and cultural events happening across Venice. An exhibition of Swedish timber architecture displays the properties of the timeless and renewable raw material alongside cutting-edge technology. Located within the Biennale grounds at a space designated for Swedish events during the Architecture Biennale, the event will fill the greenhouse space with Ulrika Karlsson’s exhibit Plots, Prints and Projections, meanwhile a wooden pavilion, drawn by In Praise of Shadows Arkitektur, can be found in the park.
