Céline A/W 2015
Mood board: Calculated, undone clothing sat at the heart of Phoebe Philo's stunning winter collection at Céline, where dresses were left incomplete on the backside and skirts swooshed along in unfinished, asymmetrical layers. The clothing was painstakingly put together with eccentric touches such as fancy bell-sleeve cuffs or patchfronts on dresses, but the no-nonsense footwear allowed the models to whiz by at the speed of modern day life.
Best in show: Philo is heralded as a minimalist, but her best work of late deals with more complex, intricate workmanship such as the black jacquard pieces that featured 3D white ribbon and thread appliqués and fur trim. Simply exquisite.
Finishing touches: For a look at what every woman will be wearing in six months time, look no further than the Céline models' feet, which were covered in slip-on white orthopedic-style tennis shoes, while their arms that carried raw-seamed, oversized leather bucket-totes in contrasting colours or flashes of zebra skin.
