OD Port Portals — Mallorca, Spain
This summer, yachtsmen cruising the Med will have yet another destination to add to their list in the Balearic Islands. A stone’s throw from Puerto Portals, one of Mallorca’s most prestigious yacht harbours, the Spanish hotel chain OD Hotels has opened its third property, a 77-room hotel that exudes cool retro glam. This being Mallorca, the large swimming pool, surrounded by comfy lounge beds, might be its most prominent feature, but it’s the adjacent lounge, restaurant and bar area that is getting the most attention. These spaces, created by interior designer Mayte Matutes, offer a slightly quirky yet relaxed and unpretentious retreat from the blazing sun. Meanwhile, on top of the Victor Rohala-designed structure, a rooftop terrace offers views across Mallorca, but for guests wishing to explore the island further, access to a Smart cabrio car is included in the price of all suites.
