Park Hyatt, Shanghai
Shanghai’s new Park Hyatt scales the dizzy heights of the 79th to 93rd floors of the city’s World Financial Centre, making it the highest hotel in the world. Inspired by traditional Chinese geometry and architecture, New York-based designer Tony Chi has created a modern residence in earthy tones and natural materials. The 87th floor reception leads to a living room, tea salon, dining room and bar, while two floors below is an infinity pool, tai chi courtyard and wellness studio. The restaurant features soaring floor-to-ceiling windows, and the 92nd floor is split into a live music bar and cosy Chinese-style lounge. The 174 high-ceilinged rooms and suites all have views over the Huangpu River and Pudong.
