Following the positive response to its recently refurbished guest rooms, Hong Kong’s Landmark Mandarin Oriental has once again tasked local architect Joyce Wang, this time, to work her magic on its Presidential suite.

Now called The Apartment Suite, the result is a space that feels like an ultra-luxurious private home, where rich golden caramel hues and royal blue tones create the perfect base for Wang’s signature detailing, which includes hand-painted silk or wood wall coverings, curvaceous leather furnishings and hand-tufted rugs. ‘The feeling of residential for me, comes from the softness of the material palette, including velvets, timber and carpeted floors with soft accent lighting,’ says Wang.

This uptown atmosphere is also in the layout, where a large marble-clad entrance leads past a Gaggenau –draped kitchen, through glass sliding doors, into an open-plan living and dining area that comes complete with a bar and custom-designed crystal vitrine pantry- the perfect setup for small dinner parties or cocktail gatherings.
