We love ourselves a notebook, and found several worthy acquisitions during our sojourn in Rio, courtesy of stationery label Luferela. Established last July, the atelier is a union between art directors Anna Luiza Padua and Fernanda Froes and Gabriela Irigoyen, a professional bookbinder and artist.
The trio's combined love for books and paper was enough to set up a business on, and judging from the success of their first collection (they sold out), their sentiments were not misplaced.
"We believe that we can bring back some feelings and attitudes that were forgotten in modern life, such as writing a letter or a thank you note, or keeping a diary."
Stationery, agendas, notebooks and sketchbooks abound, and the studio has sourced papers from Japan, France, Italy as fodder. Like most good things, each Luferela notebook is limited edition, but with two collections out a year, the chances of owning one are a little more likely than you think.
