Marco de Vincenzo S/S 2017
From Giorgio Armani’s ‘Charmani’ to Versace’s sexy take on sportswear and Marco de Vincenzo’s graphic appeal, catch up on the latest from Milan
Mood board: As one of Italy's most promising rising talents, Marco de Vincenzo continues to revolutionise his work each season with wildly intricate craft and graphic appeal. This season he zeroed in on sheets of fringe that swung like happy curtains across the clothes and on a joyous 1950s postcard whose depiction of a Riviera scene was showered like techno-coloured rain over dresses, coats and linings.
Best in show: Standouts included an asymmetrical green fringed cape coat, worn with a jacquard two-piece pantsuits mimicking the same diagonal stripes, as well as a sensational fireball orange sequined frock with a cutout neckline.
Finishing touches: The footwear was nothing short of fabulous in this collection with de Vicenzo upgrading a pair of sporty white Stan Smith sneakers with a bulging braided velvet trim. Boots too were uber cool, made from stripes of metallic leather or bright satin that clung to the calf like chic bandages.
