Mood board: The English designer Roland Mouret celebrated 10 years in business with a show in the grand Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild in Paris. The anniversary proceedings began with a new discourse on the designer’s signature sexy, body-conscious dressing, but wrapped up in new harness-like straps and flounced tiers, and culminated with a full line up of his famous galaxy dresses sent out in a dazzling array of candy colours on every model in the finale catwalk.
Best in show: Mouret was best when he chartered new territory in his fashion oeuvre such as an outstanding one shouldered ruffled white top that sat perfectly over a black skirt with a wavy hem.
Finishing touches: Mouret loves a long leg and his body-clinging clothes require the lift of a high heel, lest a woman look dumpy. This season, the stilettos were crafted out of a patent leather hot orange crochet or grass green thick strap sandals that took the models right off the ground.
