Topshop Unique S/S 2016
Mood board: The sheer volume of looks at Topshop Unique’s show always makes for a dazzling array of references and looks. This time, a few elements stood out and reoccurred: enlarged polka dots on dresses, jackets and trousers gave a retro feel, fur jackets, stoles. Fur trims on shoes added a luxury element.
Best in show: A look lifted straight from Joan Collins’ wardrobe was a real throwback to Eighties glamour – a sheer leopard print blouse teamed with a pale pink leather high-waisted skirt finished off with a skinny red bow belt and fur-trimmed sandals.
Team work: The Wedgwood collaboration brought botanical prints to the Topshop mix, marrying the iconic British tableware brand’s heritage to the high-street retailer’s youthful approach.
