Salvatore Ferragamo A/W 2017
Mood board: Fulvio Rigoni was appointed design director of women’s ready-to-wear at Salvatore Ferragamo last season, and for his second A/W 2017 offering, the designer’s collection, which opened in a colour palette of duck-egg blue, sandstone and light grey before rising into a crescendo of bright oranges, purples and pinks, featured supple leather blazers, ribbed column dresses and camisoles and suits in leopard and textured tiger print.
Best in show: A series of hybrid pieces, including a double-breastd leopard print dress with a tailored jacket affixed to its back and a demure calf-length dress in navy, with a layered leather-cape that resembled a tied sweater.
Team work: The A/W 2017 show also marked shoe designer Paul Andrew’s first outing as Ferragamo’s footwear design director. Designs included towering shoe-boots in autumnal shades, complete with a distinctive undulating sole and sculptural heels created in pewter.
