Mood board: Creative director Stefano Pilati created an in-nature dreamscape populated by slick, sleek, eco-warriors that were ready to jump into the urban jungle.

Best in show: We loved all of the protective, in-the-field, gear that had a high-end luxury bent. The best were the wool mud-coloured coats that sprouted reptile-esque scales and were slickened with a glossy finish. Also noteworthy? The sweaters that came with their own cable-knit, baseball cap hoods.

Scene setting: There were more live trees planted inside the massive former Fiera show space than there are in most of Milan’s parks. In keeping with the show’s theme, Zegna plans to re-purpose all of the trees as part of its Biella Province-based Oasis project.
