Mood board: Christopher Bailey likes the challenge of merging a dichotomy, which is just what he has achieved with his A/W collection dubbed ‘Classically Bohemian’ that unites his keen tailoring and outwear prowess with patterns and textures that are by all accounts a little more off-kilter – behold mirrored disc appliqués, paisley and leopard print and flowering vine motifs.
Best in show: Bailey has done very well with the scarf and blanket in recent seasons, and winter’s luxurious fringed version is sure to skip to the same sales beat. His cropped trousers (socks are gaining in importance as the shows go down), tortoiseshell spectacles and autumnal hued shearling coats won’t be far behind.
Team work: If hipsters are the modern day equivalent of the hippy, then Bailey scored another high note with a live performance by British singer-songwriter Clare Maguire as metallic disc confetti fell from the ceiling.
