New dates announced for postponed cultural events
Showcasing solidarity, here is our guide to important global events happening through 2020 and 2021, and when to expect them
Salone del Mobile
Milanese design fair Salone del Mobile has been moved to 13 – 18 April 2021 .

Other important cultural events, exhibitions and fairs that have been postponed
Asia
- The 2020 edition of Art Basel Hong Kong, which was due to take place this month (March 2020), has been cancelled. The next iteration will take place 25 – 27 March 2021. artbasel.com/hong-kong
- The postponed 14th edition of international art fair Art Dubai, (originally scheduled for March 25 – 28 this year), will now take place from 17 – 20 March 2021. artdubai.ae
Europe
- The Geneva Motorshow, which was due to start today (5 March) in the Swiss city, has moved online. Stay tuned for our digital coverage this week. gims.swiss
- The opening 17th International Venice Architecture Biennale, titled ‘How will we live together?’, has been delayed to 22 May 2021. labiennale.org
- In Frankfurt, Germany, leading trade fair for lighting and building services technology Light + Building, has been moved to 27 September – 2 October 2020. light-building.messefrankfurt.com
- International watch fair Watches and Wonders, held in Geneva, Switzerland, will return in April 2021. watchesandwonders.com
- Annual Italian beauty tradeshow Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna has digital events running 4-10 June 2020 and the Bologna-based show has been re-scheduled to spring 2021. cosmoprof.com
- The Foster Foundation's ‘Future is Now' forum, which was due to be held in the Spanish capital Madrid, has been cancelled. normanfosterfoundation.org
- PAD Paris, the fair for collectible 20th century and midcentury design has been rescheduled to 12-17 May. www.pad-fairs.com/paris
- Copenhagen-based design fair 3daysofdesign has changed its dates to 3-5 September. www.3daysofdesign.dk
- The 38th edition of Art Brussels, due to take place in April this year at the iconic Tour & Taxis site, has been postponed until 22 – 25 April 2021. artbrussels.com
- London showcase Clerkenwell Design Week has been postponed to 14-16 July. clerkenwelldesignweek.com
- The 6th edition of Photo London, due to take place at Somerset House in May, has been postponed until 7 – 11 October 2020 at the new location of Gray's Inn Gardens. photolondon.org
- Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art 2020, scheduled for 24 April – 10 May, has been postponed until 2021. glasgowinternational.org
- The 2020 edition of Art Basel, due to take place in June, has been rescheduled. The new dates for the fair are 17 – 20 September, held at Messe Basel. artbasel.com
- Biennale Interieur’s 27th edition in Kortrijk has been postponed to 15 – 25 October 2021. interieur.be
North America
- Frieze New York, due to take place 6 – 10 May 2020, has been cancelled. The next edition of Frieze New York will take place in 2021. Frieze Sculpture at Rockefeller Center has been postponed until later this year. frieze.com
