How does your garden glow? Lodes debuts outdoor lighting
The Venice-based lighting specialist launches high-performance but decorative outdoor lighting

In collaboration with Lodes
An ‘innovative and unconventional’ approach to outdoor lighting. That’s how Lodes’ managing director Massimiliano Tosetto describes the Venice-based studio’s new collection.
Lodes, he says, goes beyond illumination, shaping exterior lighting products that strike a balance between form and functionality, elevating spaces with a distinctively decorative touch. There’s no compromise on design, finish, materials and utility.
‘Kinno’
The company’s entry into the outdoor lighting sector, explains Tosetto, is guided by a clear ambition: not to follow existing standards, but to rethink them. The inaugural collection, launched at Euroluce 2025 during Salone del Mobile in Milan, puts optics and lenses front and centre, with lamps, floor washers, pendants, lamps and spots resulting from collaborations with acclaimed designers Patrick Norguet, Snøhetta and estudi{H}ac and the Lodes in-house design team.
‘Focus’
‘Focus’
From the collaboration with French designer Norguet, ‘Focus’ is a spot/projector whose lines, design and materials draw inspiration from the world of professional photography.
‘Kinno’
Intended to integrate seamlessly into natural landscapes – lawns, beds, large plant pots – the bollard design of ‘Kinno’ assumes a mushroom-esque, parasol form, incorporating light-diffusing gills and a long and slender stalk.
‘Chelsie’
‘Chelsie’
‘Chelsie’ is a hooded, ocular ‘floor washer’ model, casting soft, subtle light effects across staircases and skirtings, also functioning as a step marker in its compact version.
‘Reed’
‘Reed’
‘Reed’, by Lodes’ in-house team, nods to nature, its reed-like form designed to be planted in the ground either standing alone or as an evocative cluster.
‘Stitch’
Spanish design studio estudi{H}ac has contributed an ambient lantern, ‘Stitch’, crafted metal and outdoor fabric, and featuring a delicate woven pattern.
‘Volume’
Meanwhile, ‘Volume’, by Norwegian architects Snøhetta, reimagines Lodes’ eponymous spherical blown-glass interior lighting design for the outdoors.
‘Puzzle Outdoor’
Also adapted to take an existing Lodes interior lighting design outdoors is the wall-mounted ‘Puzzle Outdoor’, re-engineered by the in-house team.
Designed for versatility and contextual sensitivity, Lodes’ outdoor lights subtly enhance their setting, whether natural or architectural, while adding luminescent clarity. They are adaptable to a variety of outdoor settings – terraces, pergolas, gardens, shading systems, and living walls.
Functionality is key to the Lodes aesthetic. The collection merges cutting-edge technology with high-performance features and the highest industry standards. Clean, timeless design and a carefully curated colour palette allow for great outdoor combinations. Individually, the pieces address specific design challenges, but the collection is visually cohesive, united by a refined, shared palette.
Technology is embedded into all products, which feature durable materials, weather resistance, and optical precision. A concealed light source ensures visual comfort in compact spaces, without sacrificing efficiency. The modular design allows for repair, replacement, and end-of-life disassembly, promoting sustainability through extended usability.
The entire collection reflects strategic design choices. From a minimal set of core components, multiple configurations emerge, tailored to diverse design scenarios.
