Few destinations are charged with as many romanticised preconceptions as Italy, a country whose cuisine is arguably the most famous in the world. Instead of claiming to offer an authentic Italian experience, Copenhagen restaurant Italy gives patrons a Scandified version of la dolce vita, with Norm Architects tasked to create an interior that invites Italian atmosphere with Scandinavian paired-down functionality. To counteract monotony, the firm has introduced a set of spatial archetypes that can be cobbled together, forming a bespoke solution unified by subdued yellows, dark azure blues, hexagon mosaic tiling and Dinesen woodwork. Part of the Cofoco restaurant group, the pizza-focused concept is due to be rolled out in several additional locations.
