Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy, the duo behind the Sydney-based Dinosaur Designs, have always had a weakness for a dramatic silhouette. Practising artists, they are predominantly drawn to the sleek, glossy potential of resin.
The new ‘Black and White’ collection is a case in point, and here resin is teased into powerful shapes; the Carved Gem necklace clings to the neck while the bold Disc Bangles coil seductively round the wrist.
In this brilliantly bold collection, sterling silver is added to the mix, infusing the aesthetic with a precious element. The metallic accents elevate the pieces beyond Dinosaur Design's typical costume-jewel aesthetic sensibility. ‘We’re always evolving our technique. We have a lot of experience to draw on but there’s endless new ways to discover,’ they say.
Jewellery cuts oversized, fun silhouettes; when layered, proportions are unashamedly voluminous
